시온예배공동체의 설립 47주년 감사주일예배를 드렸습니다. 예배 중, 당회와 교역자의 찬송, 영어회중과 집사님 한 분의 색소폰 연주, 찬양팀의 힘있는 찬양, 그리고 집사님 두 분의 수화찬양으로 구성된 찬양의 시간은 그동안의 시온의 걸음을 하나로 뭉뚱그려서 “하나님의 은혜”로 고백하는 감격과 감사의 시간이었습니다. 그 찬양은 몇 개월간 준비되어 최선으로 드리려는 마음이 깊이 담겨 있었습니다. 1980년부터 시온의 지체가 되어 온 가정과 올해 하나님 아버지의 부르심을 받은 장로님 가정을 향한 감사패 전달식은 우리가 예수님 안에서 하나임을 확인하는 시간이었습니다. 또한, “우리와 연합하신 예수님”의 십자가와 부활을 깊이 묵상하며 감사하고 다시 의지하는 성찬식에서는, 47년 된 시온공동체에 우리가 모여서 예배하는 이유를 확인하는 시간이었습니다. 친교시간은 많은 성도가 정성껏 준비한 음식을 나누는 복된 자리였고, 새가족을 환영하는 자리였고, 47년 전에 설립지체였던 한 가정이 현재의 성도 몇 분 (남녀연장자, 연소자, 영어권)과 함께 감사케잌을 자르는 감격의 자리였습니다. 여전히 “먼지”(시 103:13~14)뿐인 저희가 지난 47년간 그 “먼지”로 생명의 역사를 일구신 성삼위 하나님만 의지하면서 48년째의 걸음을 시작합니다!
Last week, we offered a Thanksgiving Worship celebrating the 47th Anniversary of Zion Church. This unified KM and EM worship was a moving time of gratitude, confessing Zion’s past journey in a single word: “God’s Grace.” We dedicated a time of special musical praise by the Session and ministers, English Ministry members with a deacon playing the saxophone, powerful praise from the praise team, and a sign language praise by two deaconesses. We also presented appreciation plaques—to a family who has been part of Zion since 1980 and to the family of an elder who was called to his eternal home by Father God this year. Furthermore, as we meditated on the cross and resurrection during the Lord’s Supper, we gave thanks and were reminded of the reason why we gather to worship at Zion. Fellowship was a blessed time of sharing delicious food lovingly prepared by many members, welcoming newcomers, and cutting the anniversary cake together—a touching moment shared by a planting family from 47 years ago alongside current members representing different generations (the eldest man and woman and the youngest) and the English congregation. Acknowledging that we are still nothing more than “dust” (Psalm 103:13–14), and relying solely on the Triune God who has cultivated a story of life through that very “dust” over the past 47 years, we now take our steps into our 48th year!
