시무장로후보 및 시무권사후보 교육을 마치며, 감사와 감격의 기도가 나왔습니다. 매 번 모일 때마다, 성삼위 하나님의 은혜 안에서, 감사, 감동, 공감, 회복의 시간을 가졌습니다. 아울러, 성삼위 하나님의 강력하신 준비와 일하심을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 교육과정 중, 저는 라틴어로, “코람데오”(“성삼위 하나님 앞에 서있다는 의식”(시편 139 전체))를 거듭 강조하였습니다. 왜냐하면, 그러한 의식이 없다면, 우리는 그저, 기회주의적인 존재이고, 사람의 눈을 의식해서, 적당히, 욕먹지 않을만큼, 대충 칭찬받을 만큼만 섬기는 것이 가능한 존재이기 때문입니다. 우리가 한 순간도 예외없이, 성삼위 하나님 앞에 서있다면, 우리는 극심한 두려움과 조심성을 가지게 되고, 아울러, 적극적으로 하나님 만을 의지하게 됩니다. 그러므로, 이 교육의 끝에서, 이 “코람데오”가 이번에 피택대상이 되신 세 분에게만 필요한 것이 아니라, 이분들을 놓고 기도하면서, 하나님의 뜻을 구하는 모든 시온의 지체들께도 절대적으로 필요하다는 것을 확인했습니다. 그래야, 저희가 성삼위 하나님을 의식하고 진실된 투표에 임할 수 있을 것이기 때문입니다. 오직, 성삼위 하나님의 영광을 위하여, 코람데오의 자리에 함께 세워지시기 소망하고 기도합니다.
As we conclude the training for the active elder and active deaconess candidates, my heart overflows with prayers of deep gratitude and awe. Every time we gathered, within the grace of the Triune God, we experienced moments filled with thankfulness, profoundly moved hearts, deep mutual empathy, and spiritual restoration. Furthermore, we could tangibly feel the powerful preparation and sovereign work of the Triune God. Throughout the training course, I repeatedly emphasized “Coram Deo”—that is, “the consciousness of the divine presence,” or in other words, “the acute awareness of standing right before the Triune God”(Whole chapter of Psalms 139). This is because, without such consciousness, we are mere opportunists, inherently capable of serving just enough to avoid criticism or to receive superficial praise from others, entirely driven by human eyes. However, if we realize that we stand before the Triune God without a single moment of exception, we are seized with a holy fear and profound care, while simultaneously becoming fully and actively dependent on God alone. Therefore, at the end of this training, I came to confirm that this “Coram Deo” is not a requirement solely for the three elected candidates. Rather, it is absolutely essential for all members of Zion who are praying for them and seeking the will of God. Only then can we properly discern and cast our sincere votes with a true awareness of the Triune God.
