지난 주 월요일(8월 24일)에 성삼위 하나님께서 일을 지어 성취하시는 장면을 목도하였습니다. 시온예배공동체의 주인이신 성삼위 하나님께서 지난 47년간 우리의 걸음을 지키시고 돌보시고 인도하여 오셨습니다. 그 시간에 많은 사람들을 세우셔서 예수님의 몸된 시온을 섬기게 하셨습니다. 48년째를 살아가는 시온예배공동체가 여전히 그분의 신실하신 손길에 붙잡혀 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있는 일들은 여러가지가 있는데, 그 중에 한 가지가 그날 두 분의 피택장로님이 노회장로고시를 탁월한 성적으로 합격하신 것입니다. 모든 영광을 성삼위 하나님께만 올려드립니다! 두 분의 피택장로님께서는 피택 전에 10주간의 힘겨운 장로후보교육을 받으신 과정을 지나셨고 피택 후에 한 주간의 시험준비과정, 그리고 5회에 걸친 노회교육과정을 지나셨습니다. 어려운 과정 이지만, 그 과정을 지나시면서, 구원의 감격과 감사를 깊이 경험하셨고, 시온의 머리이신 예수님을 더욱 더 진실하게 사랑하게 되셨고, 예수님의 몸인 시온의 성도를 더욱 더 깊이 있게 사랑하게 되셨습니다. 하나님의 은혜입니다! 성삼위 하나님께서 이 일을 주관하여 성취하셨으니, 앞으로의 임직감사예배와 두 분의 목숨을 건 섬김과 시온의 앞 길을, 투박하게, 그분께만 의탁드립니다!
Last Monday (August 24th), I witnessed the Holy Triune God forming and fulfilling His work. The Triune God, the Owner of the Zion Worship Community, has guarded, cared for, and guided our steps over the past 47 years. During that time, He raised many people to serve the body of Jesus Christ, the Zion Church. There are many ways to confirm that the Zion Worship Community, now in its 48th year, is still held firmly in His faithful hands. One of them is that on that very day, our two elders-elect passed the Presbytery Elder Examination with excellent marks. All glory be to the Holy Triune God alone! Before being elected, the two elders-elect went through 10 weeks of rigorous training for elder candidates. Following their election, they went through a week of exam preparation, as well as a five-session presbytery training course. Though it was a difficult process, going through it allowed them to deeply experience the overwhelming joy and gratitude of salvation. It led them to love Jesus, the Head of Zion Presbyterian Church, more sincerely, and to love the saints of Zion—the body of Jesus—with even greater depth. This is the Grace of God! Since the Triune God has sovereignly directed and accomplished this work, we humbly and completely entrust into His hands the upcoming ordination thanksgiving worship, the life-dedicating service of these two individuals, and the future path of Zion!
