부활은 그리스도인에게 가장 중요한 사실입니다. 부활이 없는 기독교는 잡스러운 헛소리에 불과합니다(고전 15:19). 그리스도인답게 착하게 살려고 고생하고, 절제하고 살았기 때문에 그것을 평가 받을 부활이 있어야만 합니다. 그래서, 많은 그리스도인들이 과학을 동원해, 우리가 믿는 예수님의 부활을 증명해서 확신을 얻으려고 합니다. 만일 과학이 부활을 증명해 준다면, 사람들이 예수님의 부활을 믿을까요? 그렇지 않습니다. 사람들은 그저 부활 가능성에 대한 동의 위에, 믿을 지 안 믿을 지, 선택의 문제로 여깁니다. 아울러, 세상에는 과학이 증명하지 못하는 일들이 수도 없이 많습니다(가치의 문제, 주관적 질감, 의식의 기원 등등). 그래서, 성경은 과학에 의존하여 부활을 증명하지 않습니다. 오히려, 성경 자체가, 성경 속 증인들이, 그리고 성삼위 하나님께서 증명하십니다. 그리고, 그 증명을 과학(이성)이 아니라, 믿음으로 받아들이도록 우리를 도우십니다. 우리는 우리의 이성으로 부활을 증명하여 믿는 것이 아니라, 성경이 선포하신 것을 성삼위 하나님의 도우심 덕분에 믿음으로 받는 것입니다. 하여… 예수님은 부활하셨습니다. “… 그가 말씀하시던 대로 살아나셨느니라…”(마 28:6)
The Resurrection is the most important fact for Christians. Without it, Christianity is nothing more than a collection of trivial nonsense (1Corinthians 15:19). There must be a Resurrection to validate the lives of those who have struggled to live uprightly as Christians, embracing suffering and self-restraint. Consequently, many Christians attempt to gain certainty by employing science to prove the Resurrection of Jesus in which we believe. But if science were to prove the Resurrection, would people truly believe in Him? Not necessarily. People would likely view it as a mere matter of choice—deciding whether or not to believe based on a mere “possibility” of resurrection. Furthermore, there are countless realities in this world that science cannot prove (matters of value, subjective qualities, and the origin of consciousness). Therefore, the Bible does not rely on science to prove the Resurrection. Rather, Scripture itself, the witnesses within it, and the Triune God provide the proof. Moreover, He helps us receive this evidence not through science or mere reason, but through faith. We do not believe because we have proved the Resurrection with our reason; we receive it by faith, as declared in Scripture, thanks to the gracious help of the Triune God. And so… Jesus has risen. “…He has risen, just as He said…” (Matthew 28:6).
