목회단상 Pastoral Reflections 010426

새로운 해가 되면, 새로운 마음을 가지고, 새롭게 계획하고, 새롭게 시작해보려고 합니다. 이렇게 마음을 새롭게 하는 것과 새로운 삶을 살아가는 것에서, 변화와 발전을경험하기도 하고, 반대로, 실패와 퇴보를 경험하기도 합니다. 또한 많은 경우에, 우리가 새로움에 대한 생각을 하지만, 이내 또 다시, 그 새로움에 대한 신선함을 잃어버리게 되고, 익숙했던 과거의 삶의 여정과 내용에 접어들게 되곤 합니다. 물론, 저는, 시온가족 모두, 새로움에 대한 간절한 열망과 열정을 가지고, 성삼위 하나님의 인도하심안에서 복되고 풍성하게 2026년을 걸어가시기를 간절히 소망하며 기도합니다. 그러나, 그러한 새로움에 대한 생각과 새로운 걸음을 추구하면서, 동시에, 다음의 사실들을기억하기 원합니다. 해 아래 새것은 없다(전1:9)는 사실을… 그런데, 우리가 성삼위 하나님의 은혜의 역사하심으로 예수님을 하나님, 하나님의 아들, 그리고 우리의 구원주로 믿게 되어서, 예수님과 연합하였고, 새로운 피조물로 완성되었다는 사실(고후 5:17)을… 그래서, 우리가, 항상 부족하지만, 그 영원한 새로움을 입은 존재에 합당하게, 날마다 새로운 마음과 행동으로, 살아가려는 자리에 세워지게 되었다는 사실을…

With the new year, we strive for a fresh start with new hearts and plans. In this pursuit, we may experience growth, yet we also face setbacks. Often, the initial excitement of “newness” fades, and we find ourselves slipping back into old, familiar routines. My earnest prayer for the Zion family is that you walk a blessed and fruitful path in 2026, guided by the triune God. However, as we seek a new start, let us remember these truths: First, “there is nothing new under the sun” (Eccl. 1:9). Yet, through the gracious work of the triune God, we believe in Jesus as God, Son of God, and our Savior. Through our union with Him, we have been made into new creations (2 Cor. 5:17). Therefore, though we are still imperfect, we have been graciously established as those who can live each day with new hearts and actions—truly befitting those clothed in His eternal newness.
